The Long Haul Run is returning to Shap Today (Sunday 14th April) in association with Shap Memorial Trust.
Organisers are anticipating around 50 vintage commercial vehicles will be in attendance to marks 30 years since the unveiling of The Shap Fell Memorial.
The memorial was created to tribute to the drivers and crews of vehicles that had used the A6 route over Shap, and pay respect to the local people who gave food and shelter to the travellers in severe weather during the winter months.
The vintage commercial vehicles run started at Carnorth A6 truckstop at 9.30am on Sunday morning heading north following the A6 through Kendal, the wagons are due to arrive at the Shap Fell Memorial at 12 noon and into Shap at approximately 12.30.
The vehicles are expected to depart Shap at around 1:45 and follows the A6 to Penrith, joining the A66 at Kemplay Roundabout to travel west back through the lakes.
The vintage commercial vehicles are expected to pass through Clifton just after 2pm and Join the A66 at Penrith around 2:15pm.
