Overnight Closure of J40 Slip Roads and M6 lane closures

The Northern entry slip road onto the M6 and Southbound exit slip road off the M6 on J40 will be closed from 10pm tonight (Monday 12th August) until 6am on Tuesday morning.

The Hard shoulder and Lane 1 will be closed on both sides of the M6 around Junction 40 alongside the slip road closures to enable Network Rail to carry out overnight work on the West Coast mainline bridge crossing the M6 at Penrith.

Traffic travelling between the M6 and A66 will be diverted via junction 41 through Penrith during the overnight closure.
