A drink driver, nearly three times over the limit, has been arrested by officers from the Cumbria Roads Policing Unit. Officers arrested the driver on the A66 just outside Penrith on Friday evening.
After a member of the public called police with concerns about the way the vehicle was been driven, an alcohol test taken by the driver provided a reading of 99, nearly three times over the limit of 35.
A spokesperson from Cumbria police said: "Thank you to the member of the public who called 999 with concerns regarding his driving."
The vehicle was pulled over on the approach to Slapestones roundabout near Rheged just before 9pm on Friday evening.
