A period of rain, sleet and snow will occur during Thursday turning to sleet and snow overnight into Friday morning. As the rain, sleet and snow clear on Friday morning, ice may form on untreated surfaces due to sub zero temperatures.
Forecasters have said there is a chance that bus and train services may be delayed or cancelled on Friday morning with some road closures and longer journey times.
The warnings for today come as the met office has issued further warnings for the weekend when Storm Bert will reach the UK on Saturday, bringing heavy rain and snow, together with strong winds to large swathes of the country. A number of National Severe Weather Warnings have been issued for Saturday and Sunday.
