Two charged with burglary following series of break-ins in the local area

Detectives have charged two people with burglary offences as part of an investigation into a series of break-ins that occurred in the Eden area last year.

In mid-July,  officers received several reports of properties being broken into and items taken in Stainton and the surrounding areas.

Jodie Cash, aged 23, of Granville Terrance, Huddersfield and John Moorhouse, aged 30 of no fixed address have both been charged with four counts of burglary. Moorhouse was also charged with escaping lawful custody.

Both have been remanded into custody after a hearing today (11 March) at Barrow Magistrates Court. They are next due to appear before court on 10 April.

The investigation forms part of Operation Themis – Cumbria Constabulary's response to and focus on burglaries.
