Three Weeks Today Penrith’s 2025 Winter Droving will be Underway

The countdown is on with just three weeks to go until Penrith turn the clocks back 400 years once again for the annual Winter Droving now in its fourteenth year with plenty of free entertainment and activities for all ages set to fill the town centre on Saturday 25th October.

As ever the jam-packed day of festivities will end with the traditional torch lit procession as Lanterns, performers and hundreds of members of the public will weave their way through the town, with thousands lining the street to welcome them.

As part of the torch lit parade that includes the giant illuminated animal lanterns Eden arts still have two lanterns available for sponsorship by businesses or organisations this year.

Eden Arts the organisation that delivers The Winter Droving claim the Droving is a valuable event in the town's calendar generating £1.7 million for the local economy with 20K plus visitors attending each year.

The driving is ‘not just about the masks, music and parade’ The Winter Droving will fill the streets with trade stands including a range of street food from Dirty Dogs, Dipheads, Rin Tin Thai, Love Is Churros, Hollybank farm, Freshly Made Doughnuts, MalakaBrothers, Senor Paella, Fabio's Street Food, Wild Game from the Dales, Wrap Ninjas Street Food, Lakeland Steaks, Churros Barcelona and Dinky Donuts Hire Penrith.

Alongside all the festivities, you’ll find some local charities ready to share the amazing work they do in our community..
