Temporary Traffic Lights and Road Closures in and around Penrith Today

Temporary traffic lights will be in operation on the A6 between Clifton and Eamont Bridge until the 9th of May to allow National Highways to carry out works as part of the Lowther Bridge refurbishment currently underway.

It’s anticipated the lights will only be in operation daily while works are underway requiring access from the A6 onto land between the A6 and M6 between 7am and 6pm.

In Penrith Brent Road from its junction with Pennine Way (eastern end - exit only), extending northwards round to Pennine Way (western end - entrance only) and to Barton View will be closed to all traffic between 9:15am and 5pm.

The closure is to allow Westmorland and Furness council to carry out emergency repairs to the road.

Temporary traffic lights will also be in place on Beacon Edge between 8am today (Tuesday 29th April) and 4pm Wednesday 30th April.

To allow Westmorland and Furness council to plane a small section of tarmac to replace a damaged area of footpath outside Nandana on Beacon Edge.
