Avanti West coast are strongly advising passengers to check before they travel, this afternoon (Tuesday 9 December) as there is significant disruption expected on the rail network, particularly north of Preston.
The Met Office has issued weather warnings due to Storm Bram, with strong winds and heavy rain affecting large parts of the UK.
As a result, Avanti West coast are running a reduced timetable north of Preston further to speed restrictions applied by Network Rail.
Fewer trains will run and journeys will take longer. There is then a risk of further disruption on the rail network due to this extreme weather.Avanti West Coast tickets dated Tuesday 9 December can be used on the same route at no extra cost on Wednesday 10 December.
Passengers are strongly recommend to plan ahead, allow extra time for your journey, and check before you travel at the link below.If you abandoned your journey as a result of the disruption, then you can claim a fee free refund from where you bought your ticket.
