At just after 5pm a power cut hit Penrith and a number of villages around the town, many were off for just a short period of time Electricity North West are reporting 6427 properties were without power.
It’s understood around 2640 properties are still without electric in the North of Penrith.
Electricity Northwest are working to resolve the issues and restore power to all homes remotely but have said they have dispatched engineers as repair’s to a high voltage cable are required.
They have said they hope to restore power to properties by 19:00 this evening but this may change once engineers arrive on site.
