Power Cut after Damage to HighVoltage Cable Sets off All Burglar alarms on Housing Estate

Electricity North West are working to restore power to 78 properties South of Penrith in Clifton, following an unexpected incident on the high voltage cable that provides electricity to home or business in the area.

Engineers are working to restore power  and hopes to restore power to all properties by 18:00 this evening.

The power issues started at just after lunch when 26 properties were initially reported to have lost power following the electricity in the village flicking on and off repeatedly leading to over fourth burglar alarms activating on the Oaks housing estate in the village.

The power cut is also causing mobile phone issues in the area with some phone masts  also loosing power due to the incident.

CA10 2HH, CA10 2HJ, CA10 2PU, CA10 2EZ, CA10 2PD, CA10 2EY, CA10 2HQ, CA10 2HD, CA10 2HG, CA12 4PS, CA10 2PL
