Police Seek Witnesses to Fatal A66 Collision

Police are appealing for witnesses following a fatal collision in the early hours of this morning on the A66, near Thornthwaite.

Officers received a report at 1.18am today ( June 6 ) of a collision involving two vehicles – a Ford and a Dacia.

A man in his forties, who was the driver in the Dacia, was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The driver of the second vehicle, a man, was taken to hospital with injuries that are not life-threatening or changing.

Police are investigating the collision and are appealing for any witnesses – or anyone who saw anything relevant – to contact them on 101, referring to incident 23 of June 6.
