Plans in The Works for Penrith Shoe Shop to soon be Strolling into Devonshire Street

The former ‘Works’ shop on Devonshire street has been empty since the store closed in April amid a wave of closures of business and banks in the town earlier this year.

But now the doors on the prominent Devonshire street shop are due to swing open as Strolling 4 Shoes relocates with its wide range of Casual, Colourful and Comfortable shoes that will take the short stroll from their current Penrith shop on just around the corner at 9 Corn Market.

The Devonshire street shop is currently undergoing renovations work ahead of the move that will see new life breathed into the empty Devonshire street shop and help in revitalising the prominent town centre street that has seen a number of shops become vacant over the last 6 months.

The family run business was started by Andrew and Sue Marshall who opened their first shop in April 2005 at the time in Keswick before expanding soon after with the opening of Strolling 4 Shoes in Penrith.

Then in 2008 opening a branch in Cockermouth with work undertaken by them following the floods in Cockermouth receiving international recognition for its architectural regeneration.

Now almost two decades on from opening their first shop Strolling 4 Shoes has stores in Penrith, Cockermouth and Richmond (North Yorkshire) and is now a 2nd generation of family-owned businesses with Fraser, Andrew & Sue's youngest son at the reins.

With a warm and friendly welcome from the team of dedicated staff ready to help customers choose the right shoes from their extensive range.
