Penrith Man Pleads Guilty to Providing Unlicensed Driving Tuition for Payment

In February, Cumbria Police stopped a suspected unlicensed driving instructor in Penrith giving paid tuition. 

On Monday Mark Brookes, 55, of Brentfield Way, Penrith, pleaded guilty at Carlisle Magistrates Court to providing unlicensed driving tuition for payment and for using a vehicle without valid insurance. 

The case has been adjourned for sentencing on the 03rd December 2024.

Cumbria police have issued a reminded to all learner drivers, parents and guardians to only use fully trained and authorised instructors.
