Penrith man charged and remanded after drugs uncovered at property

A man from Penrith has been charged after a warrant was carried out in Penrith yesterday morning (18 Feb).

Officers from Eden’s Neighbourhood Policing team and Westmorland and Furness’s Community and Serious Organised Crime (CSOC) carried out the early morning misuse of drugs act warrant at an address on Albert Street, assisted by officers from the Dogs Section, Operational Support and Intel.

Within the property, officers located and seized £1,500 of cocaine and other drugs paraphernalia.

Sam Moore, aged 34, of no fixed abode was arrested and has been charged with:

Being Concerned in the supply of a Class A Drug – Cocaine

Possession with intent to supply a controlled Drug of Class A – Cocaine

Possession of a controlled Drug of Class B - Cannabis / Cannabis Resin

Assault ABH

Criminal Damage

He is due to appear before Barrow Magistrates Court today (19 Feb)

The seizure and investigation forms part of forms part of Operation Alliance - Cumbria Constabulary’s ongoing response to protect the county against serious and organised crime.
