Penrith Group asks Could a Pump Track be a beneficial asset for the Town?

Memebrs of a local group are asking for views of the community on the benefits of the creation of a Pump Track in Penrith.

Evolve Penrith has said members of the group have been exploring opportunities to create a pump track in Penrith that could provide an outdoor cycle area for people to use as a community asset and facility to benefit the community.

Pump tracks are a valuable addition to many other communities across the UK providing sport facilities as well as opportunity to promote wellbeing through healthy outdoor activity among local residents and the wider community as a facility suitable for all ages.

Among the options Evolve Penrith announced it has been exploring include the potential to build a pump track that could form part of the world pump track championships stages that would bring wider economic benefits to the town and local area.

Evolve Penrith said they have identified 3 potential sites that a pump track could be constructed in the local area and have already engaged with a private landowner to explore the potential for one of the locations.

Other locations the group have identified are owned by a government agency and a third site that is one Evolve Penrith believe would provide the most versatile and beneficial site for the community is owned by Penrith Town Council.

As part of exploring the options and demand for a pump track the group are asking for the wider community to share their thoughts on creating a Pump Track in the town via a short online survey at https://goto.penrith.town/Penrith-Pump-Track-Survey

The survey by Evolve Penrith is open until 5pm on the 19th September 2024

Do you think a pump track could be an asset that would benefit Penrith?
