Penrith Fire Crews Mobilised to Kendal Calling for Training Exercise

Penrith Fire Station mobilised two fire appliances and a water bowser alongside Shap, Appleby and Kendal fire appliances to reports of multiple cars on fire at Kendal calling earlier this week. The mobilisation was as part of an on-site training exercise facilitated by Kendal Calling for Cumbria Fire services.

On arrival crews were met by Kendal Calling staff who also took part in the training exercise at the festival site.

The training exercises provided Cumbria Fire Services with an opportunity to practice their response to risks present on sites in the area and increase crews understanding of them.

Later this month Penrith Fire Station is holding an open day in aid of the fire fighters charity.

The open day will give the opportunity to see the fire engines and crews with demonstrations along with other emergency organisations and a raffle.

The open day is taking place on Saturday 31st August from 11am.
