Penrith Fire Crews Called out to Tractor Fire on Mile Lane

Penrith Fire Station despatched two fire engines and crews on Tuesday afternoon to reports of a tractor fire on Mile Lane just before 3:30pm. On arrival at Mile Lane fire crews found a tractor alight with a trailer full of bales attached to the tractor.

Police closed the road to all traffic while fire crews worked to extinguish the fire that was contained to the tractor.

Once the incident was resolved and the scene was safe additional tractors were brought in to help remove the trailer and tractor from Mile Lane. Police reopened the road to traffic just before 5pm.

If you would like to have a look around the Penrith fire appliances and station, you can join the Penrith Fire Station team on Saturday 31st August for their open day.

They will be holding a raffle and there will be plenty of demonstrations and activities to keep the kids (and adults!) busy!

They will also be trying to raise as much money as possible for Fire Fighters Charity.
