Another Penrith Town Centre business has been subjected to damage to its show window overnight.
Arnison and Sons Ltd on Devonshire street takes up a prominent building position in the towns high street but at just after 10pm on Sunday night a large display window of the business was smashed causing thousands of pounds of damage to the property and stock.
Cumbria Police have said “Police received a report of criminal damage to a premises on Devonshire Street, Penrith at around 10:15pm on 15 September 2024.
A shop window was smashed during the incident.
Enquiries are ongoing into the circumstances of the incident.”
The owners of Arnison and Sons were called by the Police around 10.30 pm to inform them that damage had been done to the property.
Is a short statement the business said “Arriving down the Police showed us a smashed window (one of the smaller windows in the narrows) which really does take some force to break due to the thickness of the glass and size”
“The cost of the window and damage to my stock will probably be in the £1000’s “
“Not only is it the disruption it’s the inconvenience and mess that really upsets me
Over the years we have had many windows broken at considerable cost.”
“I would like to thank the Police Officers who attended for all their help they were brilliant and nothing was any trouble they helped me clean all the glass up too.”
The business is open as usual today.
