Police have made further arrests in Penrith after officers from the Eden Neighbourhood Team were alerted today (Friday 15th November) to two separate shopliftings incidents in Penrith town centre businesses.
The businesses raised the alert to the ongoing Shoplifting incidents via the Penrith direct shop watch radio system that is operated in the town. The radio system enabled the incident reports to be relayed with updates direct to officers out on foot patrol in the town.
Police located both separate suspects and, with the assistance of response officers, made two separate arrests in connection with the shoplifting incidents.
Police have said investigations are ongoing and the two suspects remain in police custody this evening.
