Man dies following collision on M6 last Tuesday

A man has died following a two-vehicle collision on the M6 near Penrith on Tuesday 7th April.

The man died in hospital on Friday 10th April as a result of his injuries in the collision

The collision occurred at 1:12pm on 7th April approximately half a mile before junction 40 of the M6.

The collision involved an HGV and a Seat Tarraco with the air ambulance lifting the man understood to have been. A passenger in the car to hospital.

 The M6 Southbound was closed for around seven hours following the collision for recovery of the vehicles and police investigations.

Police have said “Formal identification had yet to take place”.
