National Highways have announced the M6 will be closed overnight next week for two nights the closures are to enable essential resurfacing works on the M6 northbound between junction 39 and 40
The closures will take place on Monday 23 Sep, 8pm-6am and Tuesday 24 Sep, 8pm-6am
Road users will advised to follow the signed diversion via the A6 via then the A66 before rejoining the M6 at junction 40.
National Highways are spending £1.7 million resurfacing over seven miles of the northbound carriageway on the M6, to enable road users to have smooth and reliable journeys on this part of the motorway network.
National Highways second phase began on Monday 2 September and is expected to take five weeks to complete.
To reduce disruption, the works will mainly be at night (8pm to 6am) and under lane closures, ensuring journeys are maintained along with one lane closure (of three) kept in place during the day.
