Earlier this year during summer, a multicoloured camper van named 'Helen Mirren' and her comedian owner Susan Calman visited the area as part of her Grand Day Out visit to Cumbria. As part of filming for the eighth season of Susan’s Grand Day Out tv series.
As part of her Grand Day out Susan explored the stunning Lake District, and paid visits to Lowther Castle, Dale Main Mansion as well as trying her hand at puppeteering at Upfront Gallery and Arts Venue.
Filming took place during the summer, when Upfront was staging a lively production of Jack and the Beanstalk.
Susan met the audience and went to see the first part of the show, then went backstage to turn her hand to puppeteering.
At Dale Main, Susan got stuck into the marmalade and learned all about the iconic Dale Main Mansion and the world famous Dale Main Marmalade Festival from Jane Hasell-McCosh.
The episode will be broadcast tonight (Friday 22nd November) on Channel 5 at 8pm.
