The mood towards the government in its first 100 days is a negative one, For 43% of Britons, Labour haven’t done anything in their first 100 days worthy of being described as the ‘best thing according a YouGov survey.
The poll found almost half of those who voted Labour in the last general election feel let down so far, while six in 10 disapprove of the government's record so far.
Today also marks the first 100 days in office for Penrith and Solway MP Markus Campbell-Savours elected as non Conservative MP to serve Penrith since the 1930’s.
Campbell-Savours made his maiden speech in Parliament in September but has faced criticism for the lack of public engagement by some including a Facebook page set up asking the question ‘Where's Marcus’.
Since winning the new Penrith & Solway constituency in July, Labour’s Markus Campbell-Savours MP has done a Lord Lucan, claim his online critics.
Among those increasingly annoyed by his “disappearance” are the very vocal Fresh Air for Penrith campaign.
On election day, the new MP pledged a meeting with the campaign group “at the earliest possible opportunity”.
100 days later, the group claims there has been no meeting.
The MP’s social media has seen no activity since early August and he is understood to still be in the process of establishing a constituency office and recruiting staff with emails sent by constituents since July reviving automated reply apologising for delays in replying due to not having an office or staff yet in place.
It is understood that the Penrith MP is planning to hold his first constituency surgery in Penrith on Friday although details of times locations and how to book a an appointment have not been advertised currently.
