Explosions were heard across Penrith and thick black smoke could be seen billowing into the sky on Wednesday evening after a garage and car caught fire at a home on Skirsgill Close.
Cumbria Fire and Rescue Service was called to the incident at 6.44pm on July 8, with firefighters from Penrith, Carlisle East and Lazonby fire stations responding alongside an aerial appliance from Carlisle East.
Fire crews found a garage and a car on fire and used a hose reel jet, main jet, covering jet and four breathing apparatus sets to bring the blaze under control.
One person suffering from smoke inhalation was treated at the scene by North West Ambulance Service but did not need to be taken to hospital.
Firefighters remained at the scene for around one hour and 50 minutes while dealing with the incident.
