Driver Arrested Following Collision in Castletown

Cumbria Police Officers from the Eden Neighbourhood Police team were called to a road traffic collision on Monday evening on Norfolk Road in Penrith. 


The driver of the vehicle involved in the collision was arrested for drink-driving and not having valid insurance for the vehicle.


The driver was placed in a cell following his arrest Cumbria Police said  "so he could sober up after the accident."


Norfolk Road was blocked for a short time while police dealt with the collision and cleared the road.
