Traffic is facing long delays on the M6 this evening with tailbacks Northbound between Clifton and J40.

Traffic is facing delays due to lane closures into place for the 5 months of works to the Lowther Bridge that carries the M6 across the river lowther North of Clifton.

Traffic is moving slowly along the two lanes of the M6 Northbound.

South bound traffic is moving freely despite lane closures on the southbound carriageway.

Drivers are advised to expect delays.
