Residents have been unable to view and comment planning applications again on Westmorland and Furness council’s planning website since Friday evening after the site experienced a series of errors taking it offline.
Anyone trying to access the site and view planning application has received a list of security errors when they visited the local authority’s planning portal since Friday evening.
The planning portal has experienced random errors since it was introduced by the council in 2023 to brings together all planning applications in the former Eden and South Lakeland areas, although the Barrow area still has its own planning portal that is not impacted by the issues faced with the Eden and South Lakeland areas planning portal.
The planning portal normally enables members of the public to view planning applications and comment on any application open to consultation.
