24 Year Old Vietnamese national Sentenced for Penrith Drugs Farm

A 24 year old man has been jailed following the discovery in July of a cannabis farm in a  Penrith Town centre shop that was made to look like a wedding dress shop as a front to the Cannabis Farm operation taking place in the building.

The sentencing comes after officers executed a misuse of drugs warrants at property on Middlegate in the early hours of the 11th July 2024 and located a substantial cannabis grow in operation with over 950 plants with an estimated value of over half a million pounds.

Thanh Nguyen, aged 24, A Vietnamese national of no fixed address who was in the UK illegally, was sentenced on Friday afternoon (9th August) at Carlisle Crown Court to 27 months in prison.
