Eden council is set to hold a disco party for councillors and staff of the council to celebrate the end of the council that happens at midnight on the 31st of March.
The party is due to be held at a hotel in Penrith on the 24th of March with councillors and staff dancing the night away at a disco to celebrate the end of Eden council that will cease to exist on the 1st of April when the new Westmorland Furness council takes over following the local government reorganisation in Cumbria.
Eden councils 38 councillors will all sense to be Eden councillors at midnight on the 31st of March with a 16 councillors across what is now Eden replacing them on the new council from the 1st of April.
Most of the staff of Eden Council are expected to transfer across to Westmorland and Furness council under a (Tupe) Transfer of Undertakings Protection of Employment.
Eden Council is expected to hold its final meeting in the council chamber at Penrith Town hall on Thursday the 30th of March at 6:45pm
