Two men charged after vehicle stopped on A66 Carrying Drugs

Two men have been charged after their vehicle was stopped entering Cumbria on the A66 at Brough on Thursday night (14 March).

Police removed 1kg of cannabis from the vehicle leading to the arrests of Mark Prenga, 44, of no fixed address and Alfred Lleshi, 45, of Brampton Drive, London,  both men were charged with possession with the intent to supply a Class B drug.

The seizure forms part of forms part of Operation Alliance - Cumbria Constabulary’s ongoing response to protect the county against serious and organised crime.

Both men were due to appear before South Cumbria Magistrates Court on Friday (15 March).
