Police ask drivers to avoid section of A66 after accident near Bassenthwaite

Cumbria Police are asking drivers to avoid the A66 at Bassenthwaite as it deals with a road traffic accident involving two cars on the westbound carriageway of the A66 at the B5291 junction.

Emergency services are at the scene with traffic stopped temporarily both ways.
