Emergency services are currently in attendance after a vehicle collided with the central reservation on the M6 northbound between junctions 42 and 43.
The northbound is currently closed to all traffic and the southbound will be closed temporarily to allow the air ambulance to attend.
The incident was reported shortly after 11.30am this morning (12 Nov).
Cumbria Police have said "People are asked to avoid the area whilst emergency services continue to work at the scene".
