Important update on M6 Closure Between Junctions 39 and 40 and A6 Diversion

Westmorland and Furness Council have advised that following the lorry shedding its load onto the M6 northbound this morning between junctions 39-40. 

The full closure on the northbound carriageway of the M6, and a partial closure (one lane open) on the southbound carriageway will remain closed until at least Saturday 13/04/24. 

The diversion route in place using the A6 between Shap and Penrith via for northbound traffic will as a result remain in place into Saturday until the M6 is reopened.
