Fire crew called out to bin fire at Ullswater Community College

Penrith Fire Station deployed a crew this morning at around 04:30am to a small fire on Wetheriggs lane Penrith. 


On arrival fire crews discovered a wheelie bin well-alight in the grounds of Ullswater Community College. 


Police were called due to it being unknown if the fire was deliberate or accidental.


Penrith faced a number of similar fires last year, when wheelie bins and other items were set alight at CastlePark, Castletown Rec and other locations around the town in deliberate acts of arson.
