Counting is underway in Penrith South By Election after polls closed at 10pm in the Penrith Town Council By Election with Three Candidates battling for the vacant seat for Penrith South created after the former Penrith Deputy Mayor and Town Councillor Danny Smith resigned from the town council in September.
Ballot boxes are ready for the count after the polling station closed at Penrith Cricket club at 10pm following the days voting that has once again seen a low turnout of voters, The verification count is now underway with all three candidates eagerly observing the count.
The three candidates hoping to win the by election are:
DEACON, Alex - Liberal Democrats
HOUSTON, Mike - Reform UK
LAWSON, Kimberley Jane - The Green Party
