The council today issued a notice that it would not now be
signing a contract and has cancelled the tender procurement call.
Westmorland and Furness Council said “The Council has taken the decision not to proceed with the current procurement process. A revised opportunity will be published in the New Year”.
The council had secured £3 million in government funding for the scheme and a further £500,000 ring fenced from the Borderlands Place Programme with the Council cabinet due in January to agree the level and source of match funding for the Creative and Community Hub costs not currently covered within current available budget of the council.
