Busy Saturday for Local Fire Crews including Penrith Building Fire and A6 Crash

Saturday was a very busy day for fire crews from Penrith and crews from other local fire stations that got underway early when both Penrith appliances and Lazonby Fire Station crew were mobilised to a building fire in Melmerby at 07:30.

On Saturday afternoon at 15:30 both Penrith appliances and Shap Fire Station crew were mobilised to a RTC on the A6 involving 1 vehicle and a coach in Hackthorpe.

17:40 a Penrith appliance attending the Hackthorper RTC along with crews from Appleby fire station and Shap Fire Station along with the Carlisle East Fire Station turntable ladder were mobilised to another building fire in Crosby Ravensworth.

The long day for fire crews was not over as a call at 22:52 to a building fire in Penrith on Portland Place resulted in both Penrith appliances, along with Lazonby Fire Station and Shap Fire Station being mobilised to the fire.
