National Highways have announced that the A66 between North Yorkshire (A1M) and Cumbria (M6) is now closed in both directions due to strong winds resulting from Storm Darragh.
There is currently closure is in place for all traffic currently with no planned times for reopening of the road.
Road users travelling across the Pennines are advised to plan ahead and consider alternate routes such as the A69.
