Christmas Is Only 11 Weeks Away And That Means The Countdown Is On To The 2026 Penrith Sparkle

The countdown to Christmas is on, with just 11 weeks to go – and Penrith BID is already getting into the festive spirit.

The BID has announced the date for this year’s Penrith Sparkle, with the event returning to the town on Saturday 21 November.

Sparkle will run from 3pm until 7pm, with the switch-on taking place at 6pm.

The full details of this year’s event have not yet been announced, but the BID has released an early look at what is planned.

A Lit Up Parade will be part of the event, with this year’s parade taking the form of a people parade, giving local people the chance to get involved and light themselves up for the occasion.

There will also be local performers, with dancing, singing and acting on the programme, alongside food and drink, rides and crafts.

Santa and face painting will also feature.

There is a new addition to the switch-on this year, with the BID encouraging people coming into town to bring something that lights up for its “Switch On the Crowd” at 6pm.

Despite the absence of the Winter Droving again in Penrith this year, Penrith Sparkle will once again light up the town as the town’s main winter event, getting Penrith into full Christmas mode.

The BID says Sparkle will be fun, family-friendly and free, with more information due to be released over the next month.

Penrith Sparkle takes place on Saturday 21 November from 3pm until 7pm, with the switch-on at 6pm.
